Hi guys,
I’m Petra, originally from Germany. Since I was a teenager, it has always been my dream to visit the USA. Now, 30 years later, that dream has finally come true—and more. I will be moving to the USA!
A little about me:
I’ve spent 56 years in Germany, and I’m a mom to an 18-year-old son. I love crafting and find great comfort in my faith and Bible. As a young girl, I once saw a picture in a newspaper that showed the Indian Summer, with all its vibrant colors. Sure, here in my hometown, the trees change in the fall too, and I love it. But those colorful, maple-covered landscapes fascinated me in a way I couldn’t forget.
For various reasons, I never made it to the USA—until now.
Part of the excitement comes from finding the love of my life. In 2019, I met him online. He invited me to visit him, even though he couldn’t show me the Indian Summer, not because he didn’t want to, but because the Nevada high desert doesn’t have it. In October 2019, I visited him, and I fell in love—not only with him but also with the beauty of the desert.
I visited again in February 2020, just before the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the world. It was a challenging time, not knowing when we would be able to meet again. We tried to stay positive until we could reunite.
In 2022 we got engaged and began our K-1 visa journey. We hired a lawyer to help with the paperwork, knowing it would be a long process. There were moments when I thought it might never happen.
Finally, after two years of patiently waiting through the visa process, my journey is moving forward. We had the interview in Frankfurt, and we got approved!
My partner and I are thrilled to start our lives together in Las Vegas, Nevada, and I can’t wait to explore everything this new chapter has to offer.
As 2024 comes to a close, I’ll be saying goodbye to Germany and stepping into a future full of new experiences.
I’d love for you to join me on this journey—whether you’re curious about starting over in a new country, navigating the visa process, or simply sharing in the joys and challenges along the way.
Warm regards,
Petra, the German girl in the USA
